I started my 3rd round of chemo on Sunday.
Day 1 (Sunday)
Was at the outpatient clinic from 7:45am to 1:30pm, getting 20 min chemo, 2 hour chemo and then going home with my 72 hour chemo. Pretty uneventful but it's confirmed, when I get that anti-nausea medication, it makes me throw up. After that I'm pretty much fine, which is nice!
Day 2 (Monday)
I was a little tired but not too bad. I had a pretty long nap in the morning and then another one in the afternoon. I had much more energy than my second round of chemo.
Day 3 (Tuesday)
First time I woke up with nausea throughout my chemo treatments. I've been given anti-nausea medication but because I threw up when I get the one before chemo, so I was really hesitant to take it. Today was also the day that my 72 hours chemo is done, so I went back to the doctor's office to get it disconnected and then got a UTI test done, since I had some burning sensation. (UTI test came back negative!! Yay!!)
By evening, my nausea still hadn't subsided and when Mike came home that evening, he told me it's not the same anti-nausea medication and that he thinks, it's actually the steroid that they give me with the anti-nausea medication that makes me throw up. So, I took it. 30 minutes later, NO NAUSEA!!! I felt so much better! Very grateful for modern medicine! Why didn't I take this in the morning!!!
Day 4 (Wednesday)
Tuesday night, not sure because I had drank a lot in the evening or had watermelon but I went to bed at 10pm, then had to go pee at 12am, 2am and then 6am. So, Wednesday morning I was exhausted but I had no nausea!! Wohooo!!
I did notice that my stomach swelling went down too!! Maybe some of the water came out the night before? What ever it was, I now feel like I'm shuffling around the house instead of waddling. Hoping this means that my liver is doing better too!
After basically sleeping most of the morning, I now feel better. More energy and I feel like eating again. No nausea is awesome! Can you tell, I don't like nausea? 😀
