Hannah:1, Gate:0
For about a month now, we've been trying to move Hannah into her own room. However, she keeps sneaking into our room and then pokes me in the middle of the night. Then she gets in our bed and then kicks, hits, squirms, talks ... hence, a very unhappy grumpy mother in the morning.
The solution? The installation of the gate! However, after hearing some noise, I turn the corner and see this!
Hannah: 1 Gate:0. The gate will be returned tomorrow. Now where can I find a 8ft gate?

Making Cookies
Today, Hannah and I made chocolate chip cookies together. She was really good at pouring sugar and flour into the bowl and then enjoyed watching the mixer mix everything. However, when I handed her the cup of chocolate chips, she looked at it intensely. I kept telling her to poor it in but she just starred at it. Then she picked up one, as though to put them in one by one but then ... "pop" into her mouth. So, I took the cup and poured it in for her. Then, she looked at me with this face of "Why did you do that for? They were perfectly good chocolates!"
She was done "cooking" at this point. After that, all she asked for where chocolate chips. Not interested in anything else. Next time, I'll need to make sugar cookies.
We, also had trout for dinner today with some garlic bread. I baked the trout whole, so Hannah kept "feeding" the trout garlic bread. By the end of the meal, the fish's mouth was full of bread.

Hannah & Koichi
Hannah & her cousin Koichi. Koichi is happy but Hannah wasn't too happy that I was holding him. She learned this weekend to shake her finger and say, "No, No, No, No!" to the family dog and when I held Koichi.

Hannah Dislikes ...
Hannah dislikes ...
- having a placemat underneath her plate.
- having a dirty table cloth underneath her plate.
- having food that she does not like on her plate.
- having a dirty hand.
- milk in a cup (water, juice in a cup, ok. Not milk. Milk must be in a particular sippy cup)
- going to bed.
And this is what I found out today. This is definetly did not come from me. How can you dislike sleep! I LOVE to sleep.
Hannah loves ...
- any sort of funny facial expression
- any sort of grunting noise (uhh, blub-blub-bluuub (from a book called pout-pout fish), oh-ooh)
- running together
- being upside down
- falling sensation
- music/dancing
- drawing on herself
- climbing

Tacky Pink Glittery Shoes
Guess which one Hannah likes and which one Mom likes? Then guess which one is $19!!!
I bought the brown shoes 2 weeks ago because she needs to get a bigger size. She has had a tantrum every time I put them on on her (at least 3 times). So, today, went to payless shoe store and asked her which one she liked. She kept grabbing different shoes, so I gave her a choice. The nice brown shoes that were $13 or the tacky-pink-sparkling-glittery one that she kept picking up. I put the brown ones on her, she immediately wanted to take them off. I put the pink ones on her, she immediately wanted to take the tag off.
Mike said to buy the pink ones. Tacky pink glittery shoes is worth not fighting her every morning ...
So when does this become spoiling her and when does this become just not worth fighting?

Our Old kitchen
Our external hard drive broke on us, so I thought I had lost all of those pictures. Thankfully, we were able retrieve most of a data through a software. So, now I have pictures of our old kitchen -- well, this after we restained our cabinets.

Hannah's new room
We never made a baby room when Hannah was born. We stuck a crib and a changing table in our study next to our bedroom and that's been her room. However, I thought it was time to prepare one of the back rooms for her. So, while Mike was working on the kitchen, I finally painted Hannah's room. I think it turned out ok.
Mike's Hard work
We've been remodeling our kitchen off and on for about ... 2.5 years ... I don't know how they do it in an hour on HGTV!
However, after much hard work by Mike all this week, now our backsplash is finally in! Now we just need new blinds and paint the walls! Anyone have any ideas what color to paint it??

Playdoh
We've always had these sets of playdoh and Hannah plays with them - well, plays with them by taking it in and out of the box. We've never opened them, since she still puts things in her mouth and I didn't want to scrape playdoh off the carpet.
Recently at church, she started playing with playdoh and loves it. She then realized that the playdoh at home is the same thing!
Yesterday, she motioned for me to open it but being relunctant of having a huge mess of playdoh, I grunted and pretended that I couldn't open it.
She then grabs my hand and takes me to the kitchen. She motions for something on the counter. I picked her up and then she proceeds to reach for the butcher block and pulls out one of the scissors. She then takes the scissors and starts stabbing the cap with the scissors. After a couple of stabs (and me taking the scissor from her), she motions for me to use it open the playdoh.
It was quite funny. After this I relented and opened the playdoh for her. I had no idea she already knew about scissors and that they are used to open things.

Hannah's Routine
Hannah and I go through a routine when she wakes up. In the morning, after she wakes up, I go and get her out of the crib. I then change her diaper, grab her bib, proceed to her high chair for breakfast, then put her on socks and shoes and take her to her nanny.
This morning, Mike was nice enough to let me sleep in, so he went to her crib. However, she didn't want to get out of her crib. After he finally got her out of her crib (after she takes all of her clothes off), she refuses to eat breakfast.
30 minutes later, I get up and I see her playing with Mike with her toys. After she sees me, she comes and grabs my hand and takes me to her changing table. Where I tell her, her diaper has already been changed but she insists on getting onto the changing table. So, I put her clothes on her and she's satisfied. When I pull her socks out of her drawer, she starts having a fit and grabs her socks and throws it on the ground. Apparently, wrong order. She then takes me to her high chair and wants breakfast. She eats and then we put her socks and shoes on, and head off to her Nanny ... 30 minutes late ...

Banff 2010
Mike, Hannah, my mom and my grandmother took a trip to Banff, Canada in June. It was quite nice to get away from the heat of dallas and see some beautiful scenary and some snow!

We also bought a carrier backpacks to carry her in and it worked quite well. We went on a 4 hr hike and she did alright. Just one time when she woke up from her nap, was she a little cranky but other than that she napped it and it seemed to have enjoyed the ride.

Mike and I also did a hike by ourselves while my mom and grandmother watched Hannah for us. That was an adventerous hike. It was supposed to be a 6 hr hike but around the 6 hr mark we realized we were lost. We had climbed to a place where the snow was waist deep and we couldn't see the trail. So, we decided to head down the mountain without the trail. If we had found the trail, it should have taken us about 2 hrs, however, without it, it took us about 6.5 hrs. By the time we were down, both Mike and I were bruised and scratched by trees and rocks. But I'm really glad we made it down!! Thank goodness the sunset isn't until 10:30pm in Canada b/c we made it down at 9:30pm. No pictures since, we were using all energy we had to make it out alive ...

This picture was taken after a 2.5hrs hike up the mountain. Our hotel was right by the lake seen in the picture. We didn't have too much time at the top since, we saw some bad weather coming. We were very glad to be off the mountain before the sleet/rain hit. We saw some hikers on the trail from our hotel that got caught in the sleet/rain. It did not look fun. Some of the scenary seemed pretty crazy. You would think we went vacationing in winter or in antartica or something. But this was June in Canada - we left Dallas after having 3 days of 100 F degree weather.

I remember crying ...
I remember I cried with a towel over my head because my mom cut my hair too short. I'm glad Hannah isn't old enough to know a bad haircut because I would be crying ...
Usually, I take her to Ann, a really nice hair stylist, but I thought, I'll just trim some bangs. It shouldn't take too long. First snip, I realized, I cut it way too short. 2 more snips and I realized that I can't cut strait. By this time, Hannah doesn't want anymore of it. I realized I better stop before she loses all of her bangs.
Good thing, my sister's wedding isn't for another 2 months. Hopefully, by that time, it'll grow back and then Ann can fix it. =)

For now, I'll try to hide it with a bow .. ok .. maybe not ...

View of the World by a Toddler
Sunday School:
Sunday School is great! There's always some yummy treat - chocolate goldfish, donuts, pork bun, corn dog, chocolate teddy grams. Sometimes, Auntie Wanda is silly. She forgets I like chocolate goldfish instead of the regular ones. So, I have to take her back to the cabinet, point at the chocolate goldfish and then she remembers!
Food & Plate
Yucky food shouldn't be on the same plate as good food. When I see yucky food (depends on the day - some days bannanas, some days blueberry), I must get them off my plate and drop them on the floor.
DVD Player
I love pushing buttons on the DVD player but mommy & daddy don't appreciate it. I get in trouble when I push the bottons. I figured, maybe it's because I'm touching it with my fingers. I tried using a DVD to touch the DVD player but they didn't appreciate that either. It's so much fun, I don't understand why I can't get to play with it.

Day at the Arboretum
Upon Ellen's request, I'll post some new pics of Hannah. We went out to the Arboretum the other day - day before Mike and I came down with the flu (but that's another story) - and had some fun taking pics.

Her Auntie gave her this really cute dress, so we wanted to take some pics with it.

Japanese, Chinese ... Korean?
Hannah loves to talk to herself now. The only problem is we have no idea what she's saying. She's supposed to be able to start saying words now but haven't really heard her first words yet. I guess between the Cantanese at her Nanny's, Japanese from me and English from dad, she decided to make her own language ...

Christmas in SF
It's a little late post but we really enjoyed being out in San Francisco for Christmas. We were blessed with beautiful 50F weather, went to the beach, found a yummy bakery and was able to spend time with Mike's family.
